1. What personal information do we collect about you?

We collect personal information in a number of different ways. For example, you may provide us with your personal information when you place an order, sign up for an account or a loyalty club ('Bucket Club'), make an online purchase, post a review, send us messages, subscribe to our mailing lists, newsletter or any other type of marketing communication, apply for a job, participate in a survey, contest or sweepstakes, redeem a promotion, or use another feature of our Services.

We may link or combine your activity and information we collect from you on our websites and mobile applications with information we collect from you offline (for example, in a branch), information we receive from third parties, and information we collect automatically through tracking technologies (defined below). This allows us to provide you with a personalized experience, regardless of how you interact with us.

The categories of information we may collect can include:

Information provided by you

  • Contact and Profile Information. We may collect personal information about you, such as your name, phone number, address, business information, gender, age, zip code, and email address when you register for our services, place an order for delivery, subscribe to our mailing list, participate in a promotion or loyalty program ('Bucket Club'), redeem or participate in a promotion, enter a contest or sweepstakes, purchase or redeem a gift card, or otherwise interact with us. We use this information to create, verify, and personalize your account, to fulfill your request or transaction, to contact you directly, and to send you marketing communications based on your preferences.
  • Payment and Transaction Information. We may collect information such as items purchased, the date and time you made a transaction, the quantity purchased, your use of a particular coupon or promotion, and payment details, such as your credit/debit card or gift card or your loyalty program details ('Bucket Club'), when you make a purchase in-store or online. We use this information to place your order and complete your transaction, update your benefits, detect and prevent fraud, and provide information to our advertising and marketing departments.
  • Comments, Chat and Opinions. When you contact us directly (for example: by email, phone, mail or by filling out an online form or participating in an online chat), we may record your comments and opinions. We may also record comments and opinions you expressed when responding to a survey, participating in a competition, sweepstakes or promotion. We use this information to respond to your question or comment, evaluate and improve our products and services and update our marketing and advertising activities. When you contact us directly with a complaint, grievance or question, we may record your comments and collect the personal information contained in your correspondence (e.g. contact details, health or medical information, photos, etc.).

Information we collect when you use our sites and services

  • Location Information. We may collect information related to your location if you have provided your address or zip code. Alternatively, we may infer your location based on your IP address. To the extent that you have permitted our mobile applications to access location services on your device, we and our third-party providers may collect location data using GPS, Wi-Fi, wireless network triangulation, or other similar methods. We may use your location information to provide personalized content and advertising, enhance your shopping and dining experience, allow you to see deals and products available to you based on your location, assist us with analytics such as measuring foot traffic, and improve the effectiveness of our websites, restaurants, apps, merchandise, advertising, and customer service. We may also use the Google Maps Application Programming Interface (API) to collect information about your location — more details can be found in the Google Maps Privacy Policy.
  • Information you may submit or post on our Sites. We may collect information about how you use and interact with our Sites and Services, including any content you post on the Service. If you choose to share photos and videos from a mobile device, we will access your device's photo gallery and camera, with your permission as required, in order to post your content. If you need to update your access permissions, you can do so in your device settings.
  • Address Book Information. With your permission, we may access your mobile device contact list or email accounts, or you may provide your friends' contact information manually, to allow you to send invitations or special content to your friends. When communicating with your friends, we may include your name and picture so that they can know who is sending them the invitation or message. We may store your friends' email addresses to notify you when the recipient receives a gift card or other communication from us.

Data we collect at branches

  • Store Location Information. In some locations, we may work with third-party partners who collect location and traffic data from your mobile device when you use a mobile application configured for this purpose. We receive aggregate information about visitors to our stores and may use this data to analyze foot traffic patterns and measure the effectiveness of our marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Wi-Fi in Branches. In certain locations, we may offer free Wi-Fi services to our customers. Our Wi-Fi network providers may collect certain data from the devices you connect to, such as a unique device identifier. We may also enable Bluetooth or other technologies that allow us to recognize the presence of your device in our branches or provide operational insights.
  • Transaction Information. We may collect information relating to your in-store transaction, such as items purchased, the date and time you made a transaction, the quantity purchased, and payment information, such as your credit/debit card or gift card, when you make a purchase in-store.
  • Video or photos from the branch. In some locations, we use closed-circuit television cameras for security, fraud prevention, incident reporting and loss prevention purposes, or to collect analytics, improve operations and for other purposes.

Information provided by others

  • Information provided by social networks. When you interact with our services through various social networks, such as clicking the “Like” button on Facebook or when you follow us or share our content on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Instagram or other social networks, we may receive information about you that you have authorized the social network to share with third parties. The data we receive depends on your privacy settings on the social network.
  • Information we receive from authentication services that you link to our Services. Parts of our Services may allow you to log in using a third-party social network or authentication service such as Facebook. These services verify your identity and provide you with the option to share certain personal information with us, which may include your name, email address, address book and contacts, or other information. Upon your choice to unlink your account or your decision to close your account, any information received and stored on our servers will be permanently removed.
  • Information provided by others. From time to time, we may receive information about you from third parties and other users. For example, we may obtain information from our marketing partners or third parties to augment or add to our existing user information. We may also collect publicly available information about you.
  • Information Provided by Yum! Brands Affiliates and Franchisees. We may receive information about you from Yum! Brands affiliates, subsidiaries and franchisees, so information you provide to one brand may be used by another brand to provide you with services, communicate with you or advertise to you or provide you with other personalized content, subject to your permissions and applicable laws.

Information collected from job applicants

If you apply for a job through our Sites, we collect the information you included in your application, which may include your name, phone number, email address, and information regarding your background and work/educational history and other such information. In addition, we may obtain information about you from your references. We may also receive this information when you apply through a third-party site or service, or if we receive your information through a recruiter or employment agency.

We collect and use personal information about job applicants to assess their application and suitability for the position. We may retain a candidate's personal information for a reasonable period of time after the application date for the purpose of assessing that individual's suitability for other employment opportunities within our organization, although we are under no obligation to do so.

Please note — when you apply for a position at a restaurant, your application details may be submitted to a franchisee organization. Our franchisees may have their own data collection and use practices that are not subject to this policy.

2. How do we use personal information?

  • To fulfill your requests and provide you with our services. For example, we or our franchisees may use your information to fulfill your order or other online and in-store transactions, ship orders you have placed online, or respond to your requests or inquiries. We may also use your information to personalize your experience with us and promote our rewards or loyalty programs.
  • For marketing purposes. We may send you notices about new features, updates, products, and special offers. We may also use your information to show you advertisements for products and special offers related to our products or other products or services that we think may be of interest to you.
  • To communicate with you. For example, we may communicate with you about your account activities, by providing transaction confirmations, notifications when a gift card you sent has been received by the recipient, or updates about job opportunities you have applied for. We may communicate with you by email, phone, SMS, or other means.
  • To monitor, improve and develop our products and services. We may use your information to understand our visitors and customers, and to tailor the products we offer, as needed. We sometimes analyze statistics and trends to improve our sites and services and to develop new services or features.
  • To protect the safety and integrity of our business, to comply with legal requirements and obligations, or otherwise as required by law. We may also use information to comply with laws, regulations, court orders, or other legal obligations or to assist in an investigation, protect and defend our rights and property, or the rights or safety of third parties, to enforce our Terms of Use, this Policy, or agreements with third parties, to detect and prevent fraud or for crime prevention purposes.

3. What information may be collected automatically?

This information allows us to improve your customer experience. We generally collect this information through a variety of tracking technologies, including cookies, Flash objects, web beacons, embedded scripts, location-aware technologies, and similar technologies (collectively, "Tracking Technologies"). We may also collect this information when you connect to Wi-Fi at our locations, or if your mobile device is set to scan for available Wi-Fi networks, we may receive information about your device even without you connecting to our Wi-Fi services.

  • Information about how you access the Service, such as the website you came from and the website you navigate to after leaving our Sites, how often you access the Service, when and whether you open emails or click on links within emails, whether you access our Services from multiple devices, and your other actions on the Service.

Your Choices Regarding Tracking Technologies. If you prefer not to accept cookies, most browsers allow you to: (1) change your browser settings to notify you when you receive a cookie, allowing you to choose whether to accept it or not; (2) disable existing cookies; or (3) set your browser to automatically reject cookies.

Do Not Track. While we do our best to respect the privacy preferences of our visitors, we are unable to respond to "Do Not Track" signals from your browser at this time.
